  • 1 min read

Alzheimer’s disease is a brain disorder that gradually affects memory, thinking, and behavior. It is the most common cause of dementia and usually develops in people over the age of 65, although it can appear earlier in some cases.

Early signs of Alzheimer’s

In the early stages, symptoms may be mild and often mistaken for normal aging. Some common early signs include:

• Frequently forgetting recently learned information

• Difficulty remembering names or conversations

• Trouble planning or completing familiar tasks

• Confusion about time or place

• Changes in mood or personality

Risk factors

Several factors may increase the risk of developing Alzheimer’s, such as:

• Aging

• Family history of the disease

• Heart and blood vessel conditions

• Lack of physical activity

• Limited mental stimulation

Can Alzheimer’s be prevented?

While there is currently no cure for Alzheimer’s, certain lifestyle habits may help reduce the risk:

• Maintaining a healthy diet

• Exercising regularly

• Keeping the mind active by reading or learning new skills

• Getting enough sleep

• Managing conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure

Ongoing research

Researchers continue to study new ways to prevent, slow down, or treat Alzheimer’s. Clinical studies play an important role in advancing medical knowledge and developing potential new treatments.
