In today’s digital age, the constant use of smartphones, computers, tablets, and other electronic devices has become a part of daily life. While these devices make communication, work, and entertainment easier, prolonged use can affect both physical and mental health.
1. Vision problems
Spending long hours in front of screens can cause eye strain, blurred vision, dry or irritated eyes. This is known as computer vision syndrome, and it often worsens if you don’t take regular breaks or adjust screen brightness and lighting.
2. Muscle and posture issues
Extended device use can lead to neck, shoulder, and back pain due to poor posture. Slouching over a phone or computer for hours can create chronic spine problems and muscle tension.
3. Sleep disruption
The blue light emitted by screens can interfere with melatonin production, the hormone that regulates sleep. This may cause difficulty falling asleep, interrupted sleep, and daytime fatigue, especially if devices are used before bedtime.
